T-shirt fun

I had this Horton hears a Who shirt hanging around and it's a little small so I decided to not make it not so small. First you take the surged seam out on the bottom hem about an inch on each side (2)Cut the surged seam off as close to the seam as you can get( I recommend using fabric scissors as regular paper scissors are not going to cut it-no pun intended) (3)You can use any fabric/colors you want( as it's your shirt) for this step but I cut purple strips and zigzag stitched them onto a light green fabric rectangle that was 6 inches wide. Make sure the rectangle is a little taller(add about 4 inches) than the side of your shirt. (4)Line up the edges of the fabric you're adding with the edge of the shirt, pin together and sew.Trim the threads and check for holes. Make sure to sew the hem together on the bottom (5)And you're done This shirt had 3 tiny holes and I was going to cut it up for something but since it's such a comforta

Groton Olde Home Days 2011

Groton Olde Home Days was interesting to say the least. I met a lot of people who were from out of town or this was their first olde home days. There was also a couple that I got to talking to about Disney because I was wearing my Disney Volunteer shirt. My Table on Main Street 50 Coffee Cozies "G" is for Groton ( and now you have ""C" is for cookie" stuck in your head now, dont you?). Sport themed cozies covering football, baseball, and soccer As of today, Tuesday August 23rd, The Early Settler on Main Street in Groton, will be selling my items again. So if you didn't get a chance to visit my table, you can go and see my items there. I have also added a new feature. I created a punch card that allows you to receive a free cozie or an item of equal or lesser value($4.50) free when you buy 8 or more cozies. There is also a special coupon on the back.  and if you were wondering what the picture was of

Any guesses?

Anyone want to guess as to what this is a picture of?

Sew green buttons

I'd like to thank Sew Green in Ithaca for having buttons for 5 cents. You saved me some serious cash! So if you need buttons head on over there and support a great store(also, you can donate scrap and non-scrap fabric so they can resell it -I will be doing this again at the end of the month)

Bag for my aunt

So while I was at the beach a month ago with my extended family, my aunt requested a bag(2 actually-one for her and one for my cousin). I sketched a rough pattern and then added some measurements a couple weeks after I got back and finally this past week I have been able to start sewing the pieces together. This is the front and one side seen together with the seam being raw on the outside This is all the sides sewn together(minus one obviously) All sides sewn together There is a fleece lining but there will be an actual cotton piece in the inside. Cute awesome pocket on the front. There is a Velcro closer and so the button is just for show. The pocket is also lined with a darker fabric and has a thin stabilizer in-between. This pocket is not going anywhere Bottom piece Used all three colors of threads Bottom pinned on and ready to be sewn So you sew the bottom on and then you make the lin
Hey blog followers, Here is a preview of my next batch of coffee cozies. They're pretty much all from that stash of fabric I came into like last week. I'll post some more pictures as I get more made Also, a heads up-if it works out, I will hopefully **fingers crossed** have a table at Groton Olde Home Days this year. It'll hopefully be on Main St but I'll post my location when I know the full details for sure. And I'll be there on Saturday( as I don't work then) Speaking of Groton, I've consigned at the Early Settler (across the street from Brittany Station) and I have some cozies and some bags there. I've already had some sales(yay!-and thanks to those who bought my cozies!). I'm really excited that i've been able to get my items out there.
